This course introduces students to the basic principles and practices of accounting, focusing on its importance in business decision-making and financial reporting. Topics include the role of accounting in organizations, core concepts, conventions, and principles that guide financial transactions, and the complete accounting cycle. Students will learn the double-entry bookkeeping system, how to record transactions through journal entries, post to ledgers, prepare trial balances, and compile final accounts. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, clarity, and the application of accounting standards in preparing reliable financial statements.
