After the cameras stop rolling, it’s time for the next step of movie-making magic – post production. It is the final step in taking a story from script to screen, and the stage when a film comes to life. Post-production is part of the process of filmmaking, video production, and photography. Post-production includes all stages of production occurring after shooting or recording individual program segments. Editing, Sound mixing, Visual Effects, Color Grading etc are the major processes in the post-production stage.

Compositing is a part of Visual Effects in the process of filmmaking. Visual effects (abbreviated VFX) is the process by which imagery is created or manipulated outside the context of a live-action shot in filmmaking. Compositing is the combining of visual elements from separate sources into single images, often to create the illusion that all those elements are parts of the same scene. Live-action shooting for compositing is variously called "chroma-key", "blue screen", "green screen" and other names.

Motion design is a discipline that applies graphic design principles to filmmaking and video production through the use of animation and visual effects. Motion graphics are a way to communicate with the viewer and add depth to the story. It is the term used for all different types of graphic movements, including 3D elements, cell animation, stop motion animation, digital video, film, and many other types of motion graphics.

Motion graphics are pieces of animation or digital footage that create the illusion of motion or rotation and are usually combined with audio for use in multimedia projects. Motion graphics are a way to communicate with the viewer and add depth to the story. It deals with all different types of graphic movements, including text/title graphics, 3D elements, filmmaking, and video production through the use of animation and visual effects, etc.
