The students can participate, initiate, volunteer and organize various socially responsible programmes. The student development officer guides the students and creates opportunities for them to acquire credits. Students participate in various socially relevant programmes conducted by various Clubs and fora of the college.

The course enables the students to acquire basic information about the business opportunities in plant sciences thereby understanding entrepreneur opportunities in plant sciences. It also equips the students with knowledge in sustainable agriculture and organic farming. Students from other disciplines would also be able to generate a basic knowledge on agriculture and farming. Further the course inculcates an enthusiasm and awareness about ornamental gardening, nursery management, floriculture and mushroom cultivation.

10. Make the students to assess the positive and negative impacts of Ecotourism and its role in the sustainable utilization of resources for tourism

The course helps the students to understand the objectives of plant breeding and the methods of crop improvement. This course enables the student to understand the basics in plant breeding and equip them with different methods of crop improvement.
